Darren Kramer
Electric Trombone DJ • Composer • Producer

Darren Kramer is a speaker, producer, composer, educator, and professional freelance musician who has toured the world as trombonist with diverse acts Rob Thomas/Matchbox Twenty (Pop/Rock), Tom Jones (R&B/Soul), and Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies w Mercer Ellington (Swing Big Band Broadway Show). Kramer is an Electric Trombone DJ, XO Brass Artist, and Ableton Certified Trainer who creatively combines live acoustic instruments with electronic music. Darren’s fascinating approach to music production and live performance is fueled by his unique skill set by starting piano and trombone by age eight, studying theory, composition, arranging, and recording at the University of Miami, and performing in hundreds of bands as a full-time professional freelance musician for nearly 40 years. Kramer’s music production is centered around a MacBook Pro with Ableton Live software and performs live using an Electric Trombone, MIDI keyboard, Push 2 controller, and iPad Lemur App for live looping, live audio effects, vocoder, and beat slicing horn samples. His cutting-edge group ElektroHornz is a supercharged fusion of a 4pc live horn section with music technology for an ultramodern multimedia experience of excellence & innovation.

Kramer founded his own music company in 1998 — DKO The Darren Kramer Organization — and has produced 6 original CDs and composed/arranged 400+ songs, including many for prominent artists such as Michael Brecker & Jerry Hey which are featured on his 2023 DKO Anniversary CD “The Best of 25 Years”. 

Darren’s current educational focus are his “Keynote Concerts” Live Speaking “Edutainment” Events and his Sonic Tonic Academy Online Courses — a convenient, affordable and modern way to learn trombone, horn arranging, jazz, music technology, and even health & wellness. Moreover, as a way of giving back by creating and sharing valuable free content to inspire and educate, his popular Music & Wellness Podcast “Sonic Tonic Experience” features a weekly music collaboration & video interview with world-class musicians.

Kramer’s mission is simple, yet profound — To inspire people around the world to create music and promote wellness so we can all become a fundamental ingredient in the global recipe to heal the planet.

Jonathan Powell
LEAD TRUMPET / EVI

Jonathan Powell is an impressive musician with a unique combination of special talents including lead trumpet, jazz soloist, and building his own modular synths which he plays using the innovative EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument). He has lived in NYC where he led, composed and recorded with his own groups, and also performed with international acclaimed groups Blood, Sweat & Tears, SNL Band, Eddie Palmieri and his Latin Jazz Septet and Salsa Orchestra, Arturo O' Farrill's Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Darcy James Argue's Secret Society, Ricky Martin and JT Taylor of Kool and the Gang. Jonathan recently relocated to Colorado Springs in 2021 after winning the jazz trumpet chair with the Air Force Falconaires and is a Yamaha Performing Artist

Dawn kramer
Trumpet / Flugelhorn

Dawn Kramer is an extremely versatile freelance trumpet player based in Colorado performing numerous styles of music including funk, jazz, salsa, classical, musicals, and cinema. Her performing credits include Matchbox Twenty VH1 Storytellers, Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and soundtracks on the Turner Classic Movies channel with the acclaimed Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra. Dawn graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a trumpet performance degree …and also happens to be Darren’s younger sister :)

Heath Walton
Saxophone / EWI

Heath Walton is a multi-instrumentalist in Denver and received a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from the University of Colorado in 2003 and a Master of the Arts in Jazz Studies from New York University in 2007. Living in New York City for seven years was an education all in itself. While there, Walton studied with the great saxophonists and musicians George Garzone, Chris Potter, Lenny Pickett, John Scofield, Jean-Michel Pilc, Brian Lynch, Tony Moreno, and Ralph Alessi to name a few. Walton came back to Colorado to pursue a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies graduating in 2016. He is sponsored by 10mfan Mouthpieces and plays a Selmer Mark VI and an Akai EWI 4000.
